Hard flooring

Four kinds of hard floor plus sheet vinyl, and they suit very different rooms. Start with the type that fits how you live, then look at the ranges inside it.

Not sure which? Bring a photo of the room to the Tuggerah showroom, or book a free measure and we will bring samples to you.

Choose a type

What kind of floor are you after?

Each of these behaves differently underfoot, around water and under a heavy chair. This is the short version of the difference.

Laminate

A printed timber look over a dense core. The most affordable timber look, and the hardest wearing surface of the lot against scratches.

Hybrid

Rigid core plank that is genuinely waterproof. The usual answer for a kitchen, laundry or a whole house with kids and pets.

Vinyl plank

Softer and quieter underfoot than hybrid, and waterproof. Good over a slab and forgiving on a floor that is not perfectly level.

Engineered timber

Real timber on a stable plywood base. It is the only one on this list you can sand back later, and it looks like what it is.

Sheet vinyl

One continuous sheet with almost no joins. The practical choice for a laundry, a bathroom or a rental that has to be easy to clean.

Worth knowing

Before you choose

Water is the deciding question

If the room gets wet, hybrid, vinyl plank or sheet vinyl. Laminate and engineered timber are timber based and do not enjoy standing water.

Subfloor matters more than people expect

A floor telegraphs whatever is under it. We check level and moisture at the measure, and we tell you if the slab needs work before we quote.

Underlay changes how it sounds

The same plank can feel solid or hollow depending on what is under it. It is the cheapest upgrade in the job and the one you notice daily.

Bring the room to us

A plank looks different in the shop to how it looks at home. Take a sample home, or we bring the range with us when we come out to measure.
